A*Muse Studio Winter Holiday Card Class

Thank you to all who attended the Winter Holiday Card Class that was hosted by my friend Shelley the weekend before – it may have seemed like punishment (lol) at the time, but everyone got their cards done and did an amazing job! You are definitely a very creative group of ladies.
I am sharing pictures of the two cards that we did that were not “borrowed” ideas directly from the A*muse Studio idea book.  I try not to publish things that are not my “creations” on my blog – if that makes sense – unless I give full due to the creator.
First up is our happy snowman family - we stamped “Matthew” first then masked him with Eclipse masking tape (purchased here http://www.allthatscraps.com/ ).  Then we stamped “mom” and “dad” snowmen, and followed up with our sentiment and snowflakes.  The fun part was distressing our tree and covering it in the distress stickles – it made it so old fashioned shimmery!  Then to make it easy, we tore off a piece of washi tape to use as the trunk.

SUPPLIES (Snowman Card):
Cardstock: (White) Papertrey Ink,  (Green texture, blue) Bazzill, (Colonial White card/envelope) CTMH
Patterned Paper: (Tinsel Town paper pad) Creative Imaginations
Stamp:  (chill of winter) A*Muse Studio
Ink:   Distress Ink (Gathered Twigs) Ranger, (Black StazOn, Pearlescent Sky Blue Brilliance) Tsukineko
Other:  (Watercolor pencils) CTMH, (pine needles Distress Stickles) Ranger, (Hunter Green grosgrain) Stampin Up, (brown fall Washi tape) A*Muse Studio

The second card was a bit more of challenge – with all those folded circles lined up to create a wreath like look.  We distressed everything with the winter sky ink pad (and finger dauber), punched out our tree border (love that new border maker) and layered everything with adhesive and glue dots.  Then to make things easy – we tied a separate bow and glued it to the ribbon on the card (a cheater bow).

SUPPLIES (Folded Card):
Cardstock: (White) Papertrey Ink, (blue) Creative Memories, (White card/envelope) CTMH
Patterned Paper:  (cheerful winter collection) Creative Memories
Stamp:  (vintage Christmas postmarks) A*muse Studio
Ink:   (winter sky, cobalt) A*muse Studio
Other:  (pebble satin ribbon) A*muse Studio, (web/swirls impression plate) A*muse Studio, (tree border maker, circle maker, scallop circle maker) Creative Memories

Finally, I am sharing a picture of a card from the A*muse Studio idea book (page 23) – with just a little change that we added.  The lovely gingerbread houses were missing life – so in the Saturday class we stamped and embossed the little string of gingerbread people (jolly gingerbread stamp set) in white embossing powder on pumpkin colored cardstock.  Then we just cut out how many little family members we wanted to populate the card!  Again, an artist with A*muse Studio came up with this card idea, I just wanted to share our little “gingerbread” addition.  For those that attended the Friday class and would like a mini family for their card – let Shelley know.
