On Line Class

Just a quick note to let everyone know about a great online class - it starts September 12, and I've already signed up!  Basically, during a  two week period of time, you will be learning new techniques and end up with a work of art canvas for your wall! You can find out more here:

Birthday Elephant!

I love the sentiments in this stamp set and the honeycomb balloon!  The stamp set includes a stamp that you use on the honeycomb paper, then you cut out and place on card – so simple but so cute.  Inky Antics has at least 10 different sets – some with cupcakes, dog bones, balloons and Easter eggs.

I can't take credit for coming up with the inside layout - Inky Antics did the work for me (the back of the stamp package had a picture), I just used my own color choice - however, how cute is that little honeycomb balloon?!  Just as a hint - if you don't want the copic ink to bleed through, color the elephant on white card stock and then cut out and adhere to card inside.

Cardstock: (White) Papertrey Ink, (Pumpkin) Amuse Studios
Patterned paper: (Salt Air 6X6 Mini Deck) Cosmo Cricket
Stamp: (Birthday Elephant) Inky Antics
Ink: (Tuxedo Black) Memento
Other: Honeycomb Paper, Basic Grey Buttons, ribbon from Michaels bargain bin, Copics

Cafe Ian

I love the Greeting Farm Anya and Ian - so fun to paper piece!

While visiting a friend of mine for the weekend – we broke away from great food and crafting to run to Brentwood – in order to shop at a craft store, Art Inspired Studios !  While touching everything in the store, I came across their ready to use embellishment packs and snagged a vintage pack – so all the vintage items on this card came from that pack (plus I have a bunch of goodies leftover for future cards).
Cardstock: (Colonial White) Close to My Heart, (Shabby Shutters) Coredinations, (White) Papertrey Ink
Patterned paper: Moxie mini dicuts
Stamp:  (CafĂ© Ian) Greeting Farm
Ink: (Tuxedo Black) Memento
Other: Copics, Spellbinders Nestabilities Label 13, Vintage Buttons, Book Pages, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder

Welcome to my first post - thank you to all visitors.  Double thanks to my friend Marisa ( without whom this blog could never have happened.

The idea behind the determined crafter blog is to force myself along the creative path - to create, share and learn.  Like many crafters, I have a huge stockpile of paper, cardstock, buttons, brads, tools, beads, fabric, just name it - and I keep buying more (oh my, my favorite craft store Stampers Corner knows me by name)!

So, I head out into the blogosphere with some bad photos of my work (hopefully that will get better in time with help from my friend Shelley – hint, hint, Shelley) and an enthusiasm of somebody who arrives at Walt Disney World and thinks they can do it all in one day.

The above card is almost all Greeting Farm (paper, stamps) with a touch of Copics and a lot of paper piecing thrown in – I vow in the future to keep better track of what was used in each posting.

See you next time!
